Foot Reflexology

We have over 7,000 nerve endings in each foot, meaning treatment on this area is particularly effective. Given that we use our feet more than any other part of the body and hardly ever take a moment to care for them, it is natural that certain channels linking reflex points to systems around the body become blocked. My treatment addresses areas of imbalance and blocked tension, bringing a sense of relief and relaxation to your mind and body as a whole.

Hand Reflexology

If you don’t like having your feet touched, or if they are inaccessible for any reason, I am also qualified to provide hand reflexology as well. This treatment is just as effective as foot reflexology, bringing you back to a state of homeostasis, and can be reinforced by yourself at home after the session. I can give you some simple aftercare techniques to practice that ensure you get the most out of the treatment.

Auricular Reflexology

It is not widely known that the whole body is mirrored on reflex points on our ears, so stimulating this area is extremely effective for restoring balance to different parts of the body. This auricular reflexology treatment can be tailored closely to your needs, being remarkably relaxing and rejuvenating.

Ear Seeding

As part of my auricular treatment, I can use ear seeds – small seeds used to stimulate pressure points in the ear – that are placed on certain meridian lines to clear up any blockages that have emerged. This service targets a variety of issues, from migraines to sleeping problems to stress.

Meridian Reflexology

The body has a number of specific energetic pathways, known as meridians, that can often become blocked or imbalanced over time. Without the proper flow of energy through these areas, we become tense, stressed, and unable to rest. My meridian reflexology treatment targets these pathways in the body, locating the areas that require help and enabling energy to flow freely once again.

Fertility & Pregnancy Reflexology

I am a specialist in delivering reflexology for all stages of pregnancy, along with supporting those trying to conceive, and have personal experience in the efficacy of this treatment as well. Reflexology can reduce the amount of cortisol in your body, which in turn could boost the production of follicle stimulating hormones, thereby may enhance` fertility. The treatment is always adapted in accordance with what feels comfortable for you and what you need. This is a wonderful opportunity for expecting mothers to give themselves some self-care and focus purely on themselves and the baby – a vital thing to do during pregnancy.

Palliative Reflexology

Reflexology can be modified for those with chronic illness who are going through palliative care. This is a gentler form of treatment that takes into account your medication, stress levels, and any other relevant medical information, such as nausea, sleep problems, and so on. By bringing the body into its natural ‘rest and digest’ state, reflexology has been shown to reduce stress and pain levels, allowing individuals in palliative care to feel better overall.

NEPIP

NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody (NEPIP) is a specialised foot reflexology treatment that focuses on relaxation. It is based on the relationship between our brain, nervous system, endocrine system, our psyche, and our immune system – the systems involved in the body’s response to stress. Only practitioners with a Level 5 Diploma in reflexology can offer this treatment, which leaves you feeling incredibly rested, with a deeply satisfying sense of inner calm and stillness.

What is Reflexology?

It is the understanding that different parts of the feet, lower legs, hands, face and ears correspond with different points in the body. In the 1920’s and 30’s the first Western reflexology foot map was produced. Since that time other anatomical areas have been mapped allowing this model to be applied to the hands, ears and face. Reflexologists use these maps to determine where they should apply pressure. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy that can effectively promote deep relaxation and wellbeing.

How does Reflexology work?

Reflexology is a holistic treatment that involves the application of gentle pressure to reflex points on the feet that link to various systems of the body via the nervous system. Manipulating these zones allows for tension to be released and activates our own natural healing process, meaning more energy flows around your body.

Helping you create balance

When treating a patient, we are aiming to bring the body into balance, to improve sleep and reduce stress. Reflexology is a very individual treatment which is tailored to you as a whole person, taking into account both physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting your wellbeing.

Improving your wellbeing

After a treatment your tension may be reduced, and you might feel relaxed. You might also notice yourself sleeping better and find your mood and sense of wellbeing improving. Reflexology is a therapy which can be received by anyone at any age, from newborn babies to those receiving end of life care, and everyone in between.

“Rest and Digest”

Put simply, reflexology is all about taking your body from a “fight or flight” state and back into a state of “rest and digest”. Doing so doesn’t just leave you with greater peace of mind but also provides relief from certain physical conditions.

Benefits of Reflexology

While reflexologists cannot ever claim to cure, diagnose, or prescribe any particular condition, reflexology has been known to help clients in managing a range of health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.

Improved circulation and energy flow

Relief of aches and pains

Alleviates stress

Eliminate toxins from tissues

Improves sleep

Gives your body more energy
